Thought this was a good fix in a bind.
This wire had been connected like this since 2004 huricane season.
When I asked the home owner if he got shocked he said it didn't hurt too bad.
For those of you that have trouble seeing, that is a bunch of SS hose clamps used to splice a 2' wire for the service drop. With some 5/8" garden hose for an insulator.
By the way, we installed a new service and distribution panel for this fella today.

Of course everybody knows electrical work is easy, all you need to know is black, white, ground, and how to use electrical tape......and if you can't find any tape, garden hoses work perfectly!

Wonder why he didn't just use twisty ties from the garbage sacks?
At least he got it fixed! And by a pro!

WWMD?
MacGyver? Probably dissolve the cardboard tube in the sink, turning it back into pulp. Then, using his shirt to press the water out of the pulp, turn it back into paper...
One day John hears Peter calling out from the biffy: "Hey John, you got paper?"
"No" John replies. He thinks for a moment. "Hey Peter, you got dollar?"
"Umm, sure." says Peter. "You want me to use dollar?"
John waits outside. After a few minutes, out comes Peter, covered in caca.
"Peter, what happened?!"
"You ever tried to wipe with three quarters, two dimes, and a nickel?"

Since most garden hoses are green they can only be used for ground conductors.

"You ever tried to wipe with three quarters, two dimes, and a nickel?" He shoulda slid the money under the door and said "Go buy a roll!"
