Covered or protecting EMT from debris

Has anyone ever been wrote up by a Commissioning Agenda or Engineer for bundles of ¾” conduit stored inside the building that was not covered or protecting from debris? I could understand if it was outside but on a concrete slab inside the building? This is a LEED building so I know Indoor Air Quality is a big deal and I think that is where the concern is coming from? Anyone ever done this before? It’s not a big deal to put some plastic over the material but trying to understand the point?

Obviously they've never seen the pipe yard at most supply houses. :D
