I am looking to purchase Vision estimating program. The vision people are telling me that th Classic version has not been updated since year 2000. That I should go with the Plus Version. Has anyone else purchased any of there software recently and run into to this situation. If so what is the major differences in the two and did anyone go with the Classic version. I am a small shop and was wanting to get others opinions and ideas as to what oters had done.
Thanks

Vision has demo versions of each you can download off their website ( http://www.visioninfosoft.com/products/electrical/ebm/ ). Personally, I've used the Plus Version as my brother-in-law has it, and I think it's one of the best I've worked with. They're limited, but at least you can "drive it before you buy it".

I have the plus version with fire alarm, and low voltage adders. I like the system pretty well. I also took one of their classes, I think it was around $300 and two people could sit at a computer. We estimated a $120,000 office job during the class. I thought it was well worth it.

I just talked with Vision and there lower end software EBM Classic has not been updated since 2000. I was told that they still carry it if someone is currentl using it and change companys , they could purchase it again and download there data and continue using it. I was wanting if any one has purchased this software lately. I am assuming One would have to go thru and update the pricing and maybe even some of the labor units if they have been changed.
I am leaning towards the Plus Version as it has a training CD and other support as well. Any thoughts
