Duplicate files

For some reason I have a large amount of duplicate files on my hard drive. Mostly picture files from updated software. Anyone know of some software or a process that would ease the pain of removing these?

CMH has a software update & I need the disk space.

One has to be carefull with these downloadable shareware, what it might do is run the program identify you have x number of files that need or meet the requirements of the search.
But wait, oh yeah, we can't proceed because you have to buy the program to service what you thought was "free", very frustrating!
