We've not tried fastenal. Is it good?
We use the big box stores or our local supply house carries fasteners, too.

Try here. It works good for us, but we buy quite a few at a time.

That's where I go.... Fasental (http://www.fastenal.com/). If I need something today, and I'm already at the supply warehouse, then I usually get it there if they stock it. Otherwise, I stop at Fastenal whenever I need to 'stock up'.

Our local supply houses carry a great selection of quality fasteners. Some of the stuff the big box stores carry is really junk.

Along with Fastenal we use Ram Tool and a few local only fastener suppliers. Usually whoever is more convenient to where we are working.

If you don't specify the better quality stuff, you will also get the juck fasteners from the 3 suppliers that I use.

General purpose I buy from an Amish supplier, he charges by the pound and everything is grade 5. Grade 8 and stainless steel I purchase from A & A bolt or Whitecap Supply.

You know Whitecap is owned by HD? I was fond of Brock Tool.

You really have to watch the prices at Whitecap. Have you tried
PCS. Two guys from Brock started it when Whitecap/HD took over.

I'm with you there. We also just bought several pounds of misc hardware from Gebos a local farm supply store. I think they charge $2.00 a lb for anything Grade 5.

I always found a local fastener company's prices about half that of electrical supply houses by buying in bulk, those screws, bolts, nuts, all thread, and fasteners we used. Big Box store prices were competitive only with Electrical supply houses.

I generally specify the cheap stuff. For what I am doing it is quite adequate. I order it from Grainger, once in a while from Fastenal if Grainger does not have it.

Fasteners and hardware supplies I have an account at a place called Industrial Hardware that I think also has some mainland locations. Very good quality stuff found there.
