Been looking around the ADA site for height requirements. All I see is forward approach with knee space (http://www.access-board.gov/adaag/html/figures/fig5b.html) and side approach (http://www.access-board.gov/adaag/html/figures/fig6c.html). Is there no forward approach without knee space?

Thank you.

This may help, but I am not sure.

Here is a site with some illustrations (http://www.ada-bathrooms.com/)as well

Chris.,

That is a instering situation however I just talked to my wife and she filled me in few details realted to the ADA requirements so let get to the basic real quick here.,

For cabents with foward opening that useally not too bad but get the switches and receptales mounted little lower than what the normal format and few cases if the Inspector can allowed this by putting the switches or receptles in the foward comparment.

For side approach that part It will be more fair to elvauated each situation case by case and some situation will require simuair set up as I mention above.

Unforetally I don't have the link for ADA for more specfic details for the switches and receptles for countertop set up for other useage just follow the ADA requirements I think it should cover it pretty well but again each situation may need little change along the way.

Merci,Marc

Edit:

Pierre did provide the link so it kinda gave me little more idea with the situation for swiches and other devices IIRC do not mount them no higher than 42 inches high I know the ADA stated either 48 or 52 inches max height for the receptales the lowest it will can be about 16 inches but normally some area it done by mounted at 24 inches

What do you want elbow room, or hang edge - space, maybe less than a fore-arm ?

Would one have access below an edge or half arc, being accessible from a wheel chair, yeah it could be worked out!
