Hey guys new one on me. Just had to go change 5 or 6 recept covers because the top and bottom bowed out of the wall. They were the levitron imbreaksable style. Screws were tight but not too tight. They were all on exterior walls. Home had just been remodled. Thier was some water on the back of the covers but nothing wet in the box or walls. Any suggestions on what might have caused this? Have you ever seen this before?

I've had those warp before. But only when left in a closed truck in the summer. You said these were on an exterior wall, it wouldn't face south would it?

That is the one drawback to the nylon plates. They warp and look like trash if you crank down on them too hard, which sometimes you have to do.

I've had them warp that's one reason I prefer the good old breakable type....you have to know how to get your device straight for them to not break. They look 100% better than the unbreakable type. But I've had both types warp on the truck in hot weather....4 gang covers are the worst, cause it's always the last one you have on the truck and you are miles outside of town at 4:30 ( and the supply house closes at 5).

Try using Pass and Seymore cover plates, they are more flexible than Levitons standard hard cover plates, but more stable than their nylon ones...

Are they mounted on dimmers? Could be the heat from the dimmer causing some distortion.
