we had a call last night at 9 pm. the boss went out and disconnected the burned circuits

when i get there it looks like the panel fire might of happened because of a loose connection causing the paper of the fuse to light on fire

it wasnt a major fire a few wires were charred at there terminals so i think there might of been a bunch of loose connections. the burned cartridge fuse was on the 30 amp dryer circuit and she also complained of lights flickering in her bedroom

the main service connections were perfectly fine and the rest of the panel looked good just a few spots

i used the old panel as a tangle box and brought all of the feeds out of a brand new panel

anybody ever see a fuse catch fire?

forgot to add it was an old square d fuse load center

I usually find that the heat comes from the pull-out's clip having a loose grip on the cartridge end caps.

that might be possible i didnt try to pull them out they were covered in soot and didnt want to get my hands dirty at 7 in the morning :)

did the fire make upselling to a service upgrade easy?
