Pulled into a gas station for diesel today and was moaning how 3 weeks ago it was $2.10, last week $2.25 today the sign was $2.35. Filling up it seemed the dollars were flying in, then I noticed I had pulled up to the full service pump.
$3.40 a gallon, a $1.05 more a gallon, the attendant was looking at me saying nothing. I did not fill up but it still cost me $15.45 more that it would have, had I been awake.

I think you are a similar age to me, and I can attest that I have to concentrate more on everything I do (it seems), even if I'm not tired.

Those saudis will love the extra money and the attendent didn't mind you doing his job! Be thankful you didn't pull up to the wrong pump and fill up with gasoline!

Did you put it in reverse instead of drive and run over the attendant? Could easily happen at your age.

Might have been less painful.

Put your seat belts on everyone....Betting that we get a repeat (to a lesser degree) of last year in pricing.

I had the exact same thing happen a few weeks ago.

Summer gas prices are ridiculous and so I take advantage of the extended daylight hours and ride my bicycle to and from the shop every morning. About eight miles round trip, up and down hills. I do that till it's too dark in the morning to safely ride.
Makes for a low gas bill during the expensive season :D
