ES fittings

How are ES class 1 Div1 fitting sized? The code states that fittings are permitted to be filled 25% of the rigid metal conduit of the same size. A 4 inch ES fitting for example has a 4 inch female thread and the top of the fitting has 5 inch male thread. Is the fill based on 25% of the 4 inch female or the 5 inch threaded male section?

I have never used one, but looking at the catalog (http://www.crouse-hinds.com/catalog/PDFS/00191.pdf), I would expect that it is based on the actual conduit size...that is the smaller size. The larger opening is just to permit you to pack and pour the seal
