When in a class 1 div 1 area say the ground floor and we have a x proof motor below in a pit area , Would we need another ey type fitting down delow and if so where? Also is a ey type fitting needed at a xproof motor at all times?

If the ground floor and the pit are different classifications, then a seal would be required.
Explosion proof motors are internaly sealed and no seal is required. If you open up the pecker head cover and look inside you will see a chico seal going into the motor....

Conduit runs leaving a Class 1 Div 1 area shall be sealed on either side of the boundary. No couplings, fittings, unions or boxes between seal and Class 1 Div 1 boundary. If the motor conduit is 2" or larger a seal is required at the motor termination eclosure.
