Hi

This is my first post in the forum. I am attempting to design an electric motor. I have a question that affects what equations I will use. How do you differentiate between a lap wound and a wave wound DC machine. And what way is the following wound?

Thanks

If you spent time doing proper resarch you would easily find the answers...I found the info below in less than 10 minutes. Didn't you post the same question on WikiAnswers?

Next time, learn how to research properly and you will be a rockstar. I'll let you figure out what your picture is showing.

So would it be correct to say the image above is wound using lap winding (reasonings -> Coils are connected in series using the commutator)? Or is my logic somehow screwed up?

Hi

Didnt post on wikiAnswers, dont use it actually. Thanks for your reply and now I am almost certain it is Lap Wound. I knew the theory just wasnt sure because most diagrams I came accross in my research were for a single loop and not a coil.
