I am having a discussion with my boss and a concern about securing EMT. Please, if you can, tell me any code references to strapping at a coupling. Do you have to consider it a termination point and strap it within three feet or is it just part of the run.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

It is just part of the run. Ask him for a reference, he will not find one. Section 358.30 requires it to be securely fastened in place at least every 10 ft. In addition, each EMT run between termination points shall be securely fastened within 3 ft. of each outlet box, junction box, device box, cabinet, conduit body, or other tubing termination. A coupling is not a termination if that comes up. :D
