I need to install a large 1000 A switch-gear for outside mounting, but the client is short on money and only wants this panel for a few years. They stated that they would accept a used panel. I am looking for a 208 V 1000 A panel with five single phase switches, seven three phase switches, a few spares and a main switch. Any ideas?

I believe it is against the rules in our jurisdiction to install used equipment, how about yours?

I don't know about used panels but you should be able to save on the breakers. They call them reconditioned ( they take them in the back and wipe them off ). I have bought large 3 phase breakers from their local distributor.

As long as the customer is acutely aware that the equpment is less than new (used), and you take NO responsibilty for it's effective use or life span - as long as the understanding is the installation is "temporary"...and this agreement/understanding is in WRITING, including an approximate date for the swap over to "new"...I would use "used".
