PVC Jacketed MC cable is also referred to as TECK or TECK 90 cable. We were one of the first companies to develop specific fittings for this type of cable, and to make them a quick install. The connector not only bonds to the metallic sheath of the cable, but has a compressive gland ring to seal against the PVC jacket and a KO seal for the enclosure.

The NEC no longer allows flexible metal conduit or ordinary Metal-Clad cable to be installed in wet locations, and further specifies that listed wet location insulated conductors and a corrosion resistant jacket over the metallic sheath of MC cable are necessary for use in wet locations, PVC Jacketed MC/TECK Cable Connectors to meet the new Code requirements.


Parking Deck/Lot Cable (TECK) Type MC is typically used for the following reasons:

? Faster alternative to PVC conduit installations

? Cable approved for wet locations, in concrete, or direct burial in
earth, with a sunlight resistant PVC jacket and Raintight for outdoor applications

? Listed for concrete encasement

TECK is a CSA term. Jacketed MC cable existed long before that. Both continously welded, corrugated and interlock-armored. Aluminum, GS and bronze were common armor materials. Bronze was ofered as an alternative foir PILC construction to replace the lead that was becoming an environmental problem.

I had no idea that CSA coined the term "TECK". I learn something new every day! Thanks! :D

BTW: I was only referring to the quick install feature of the fitting that was new.
