Material markup 'rule of thumb' ??

Some time ago, somebody posted a breakdown of how he marked up material costs. It went something like this.........

$ .00 - 4.99 = 300%
$ 5.00 - 9.99 = 200%
$ 10.00 - 19.99 = 150%
$20.00 - 40.00 = 100%

These are just guesses but somebody posted this before and it made alot of sense. If someone could repost, I'd greatly appreciate it.
