I have been asked to stamp vendor drawings for a fire alarm system at a local school. I know nothing about the respective codes or best practices for fire alarm systems. Is there a resource(s) to help educate me?

For every school project I've worked on in the State of Michigain, the vendor or contractor has always sealed the fire alarm drawings. I do know the Codes for device location but they are the responsible party for a compliant system. The best analogy is a sprinkler system in a building. The mechanical engineer who designed the building's plumbing system doesn't seal the fire protection plans. The electrical engineer doesn't seal the fire alarm plans.
Our specs are written that devices located on plans are for coordination purposes with other contractors. The fire alarm contractor is responsible for a Code compliant system and submittal with the State.
