Is there a way to locate a specific mc cable out of several mc cables installed in ceiling space? the problem is this is mid span for the mc installation . Any tricks and or instruments?

Amprobe AT-2005 if live, and a Fox and Hound often works if dead.

You could try a toner, but I have only done this with NM type cable...

I really recommend owning a toner anyways, so if it does not, its not wasted money...

Depending on budget........these really work good, never tried on MC cable, but many PVCs.
