Type V residential construction

I bought this fireblock foam -Metallics DAP foam sealent- It says it replaces 15 tubes of standard firecaulk. It says for use in Type V residential construction. Anyone know what that refers to?

Type V refers to the type of construction. I.E. Wood, metal, steel, etc.

Residential usually means wood frame construction.
