I have a customer who wants me to install a ressi back up generator myquestions is does my EC licence cover this or would I need a home improvement licence?

What is a home improvement license?I would think that generator that would be feeding an "electrical" panel should/will only be handled by a licensed electrical contractor.

Do you have just the EC license, or do you have the business premit also?

You should be fine unless you're installing something with a gas connection. That may require a plumbing permit, and you may need a building permit if you're pouring a pad for the thing to sit on.

And don't forget the utility application, also check your insurance company, most standard policies, don't cover generator installations.
