Ceiling fan motor control question

Is it possible to put more than one ceiling fan on a single motor control switch? Will the performance of the 'second' ceiling fan on the leg be the same as the first (provided the fans are identical)?

I recall this subject coming up on another forum, and no one could locate a single control that was rated for two fans. (unless you're talking about just a switch, which would be fine)
