Industrial fire pump

What is the most common cable type and wiring methods used for fire pump systems? I have already given my suggestions for cable type, size, and routing method based off article 695 to my superior, but I see him now getting quotes back on some extremely odd and expensive cable types.

Currently his design shows pump fed from an ATS panel which serves other equipment also. ATS is fed from a distribution panel, backup source is a generator.

Location for pump will be in MCC room or dedicated service space.
Industrial (monitored/controlled access) , concrete/brick room.
