I have a two gang meter socket on a house. I go inside to two panels one for general power one for electric heat. When I run outside to my ground rods do I need to run two seperate wires? If you could point me in the right direction I would be greatful as this always confuses me. Thanks

Connect the grounding electrode conductor at the 2 gang meter socket and don't run it into the panels. (Provided that the POCO will permit this)

The grounding electrode conductor can be connected to the grounded conductor at or before the service disconnecting means. (See 250.24(A)(1))

You can run 1 wire out to the ground rods and then tap off the GEC to each panel inside the home or if you prefer you can run 2 separate wires to the ground rods.

Take a look at 250.64(D) (1) through (3) for the requirements for a GEC for multiple disconnecting means.

I would use the tap method as Chris mentioned:
