I got a 1.5hp 3 phase 440/240v motor. 9 wires in pecker head BUT the 10th wire is marked with an "R". Any ideas what this is for? It'a on an old Bridgport machine.No reverse on the controls.:-?

If you had two extra wires,,,I'd say it's a thermistor. But having just one wire confuses me. One wire won't work for a zero speed switch either. I'll gonna check around. Sometimes servo motors have a reverse lead.

Thanks mcclary, I'm going to tie in the motor without the lead and see how it runs.
