Meter question

I've seen meters similar to the one in the photo - but always inside and typically in a commercial application. This one was recently installed at a residence. I am looking for information on this meter. Why is the meter screwed to the box (and not integral with the box)? Any comments would be appreciated.

Is that the only picture you have Tony? Kind of looks like a TVSS meter.

The meter can is a standard issued by PSEG. The front is an "A" base adapter (I believe) and is issued by PSEG also. It is for when you upgrade a service and the old "A" base meter is all you have to reinstall. PSEG will install a new meter once they get the cut in card from the AHJ. BTW the "A" base meter won't fit in a new style meter can, hence the adaptor.

This service was recently upgraded - no "Final" sticker by the AHJ present. Fits nicely with your explanation - thanks!!!
