I am using TurboCad,dont know if it has same feature as AutoCad but the way I do it is:
Go to insert
Then Object
Scroll down to MS excell

Then copy and paste

I do that in Model space then take a vieport into paper.

I have used the Spanner programs but have had troubles with updating some of the panel schedule drawings. Now I use a program called Cadig that seems to be a little more user friendly. Try the free 30 day download and see if this is what you are looking for. http://www.cadig.com/
