Roof Top Lightning protection

I have a small arms building with ammunition inside....in Afhgansitan.

This engineer is telling me that in the NEC this type of building is covered and requires lightning rods on the roof every 6ft.

I can not find any article covering lightning protection.

It is not within the scope of the NEC to outline what types of structures and buildings require lightning protection. Here in the states, it is typically found in the building codes or state and local ordinances.

There are only a handfull of Lightning Protection Standards out there. One likely would apply to your case, perhaps a military standard.

Your engineer is going need to do a little better job getting you the correct information, as it is not going to be found in the NEC.
