Actually I was looking online But yes that is a concern hence my question to the forum on referrals or past experience if any

I guess you could have them sign a anti-comp clause.

Figured that was mandatory, but still not comfortable without some sort of referral

Norm, This is just a guess,but, I'll bet they give you a material take-off and a man hour

number and let you fill in the $$ amounts yourself.

If I knew and really trusted the person, then maybe we'd talk. But to take on the risk of work based on a MTO from an unknown/untrusted source isn't something I'd consider.

Part of my strategy and sales effort could/would be derived from how I pictured and built the job in my take-off.

Called around and that is basically what they do and for a substantial fee
Since I dont normally bid this size wanted to have some backup numbers to make sure I was correct.
