Could be flammability issues too. Are there overcurrent devices? Is there easily ignitable material?

I thought at one time that it said "rooms and spaces", but I have to agree that it's just spaces. I write the notice from time to time as a bluff when it's really bad and 9 out of 10 times they'll clean it up. How long it stays clean I don't know, but you get what you can.

I think one of the biggest abusers of section 110.26 (B) are restaurants seems like there is always something in front of the electrical equipment.

Our local Fire Marshall takes care of that problem in our area. It's against the fire codes in NC to use an electrical room for storage.
