I'm getting some questions on electrical for what I think may be an medical examination room. And that's a little (or a lot:confused:) out of my areas of expertise.

I have not started through the NEC, but will - probably starting Monday.

The proposed install would be similar to a school nurse's office, or an EMT station in an office building.

Any suggestions on where to start in the NEC would be graciously appreciated.

Article 517 covers health care facilities. I don't believe a nurses office would meet the need for the article. Not sure what an EMT office is, but it might not meet the need as well. JMHO.

I'd start with Art 517 definitions (08 pg 426) and see "Health Care facility" and "Patient Care Area". If you see your area fits the bill pay particular attention to 517.13. There have been some interesting discussion on the Forum if you search 517.13
