Generator MTS - how to find out if power is restored

Power outage at work. Have a 125 kW generator with MTS ahead of the service disconnecting means.
Connected and transferred to generator.
Manager wanted to know how to tell commercial power is restored.
Some suggestions of a pilot light, are not practible as that requires connection to power ahead of transfer switch with overcurrent protection.
Options I can think of:
1. Check the utility meter (its electronic) and see if the LCD display is on.
2. Tap the service conductors, install a small service panel with a pilot light.

Or a simple 15a fuse to supply a strobe/buzzer/etc.

IMO that would be the best way to go and it would meet the NEC.
