Found this....good reason why I twist my wires before putting wirenuts on

With that quality of work, they probably would not have pre-twisted the wires correctly either.

PS: I'm a pre-twister, like most of those with exceptional skills. :grin:

I twist also but the manufacturers instructions don't require it.

But at least one brand requires two visible twists outside the wirenut. I like to pretwist, but if you have the two visible twists you have a secure connection no mater if the twist were made before or during the application of the wirenut.

I had a helper that would strip 2 " of wire, put wirenut on and then tape exposed cu. Told him to stop that, he kept on til I got rid of him. On top of that, his splices were still not secure. Of course, it's hard to concentrate on quality when you're timing the minutes to break, lunch or quitting time, the important things.
