Is there a list out there of the different breakers that are interchangeable?
Is it a code violation to use one manufacturer's breaker in place of another?
UL listing problem?
Thanks

Check with the manufacturer of the panel to see if the other breakers can be installed in that particular panel.

The instructions that are provided with the panel will require you to use only breakers made by that same manufacturer. UL says that all instructions that are supplied by the manufacturer are 110.3(B) instructions.
However UL also has "classified" breakers which they cay can be used any panel that they have been classified for use in, no matter what the panel instructions say. There are some limitations such as a classified breaker cannot be used where the available short circuit current exceeds 5,000 amps (I think that is the number, as I am relying on my memory and did not look it up).
