Bodine ballast in a high rise in lieu of Gen power

Couple of questions both related.

Can you use battery pack or bodine ballast for emergency lighting in a high rise. I'd have thought you'd need to come off the generator.

Mike,
Battery ballast (Bodine or any) is fine in a high rise. Same problem as any place with local battery ballast is the monthly then the annual testing required by 101 is a bear.

Hmm - guess I'll have to go with it. Will proceed cautiously nevertheless with letter from the inspector and owner about testing per 101.
