1. Building has 4 floors, electrical distribution panel A (600A MLO, 480/277V) located in 1st floor electrical room.

Panel feeds panel B (2nd floor)
Panel B feeds panel C (3rd floor)
Panel C feeds panel D (4th floor).

All above feeding by a single feeder, through-lugs from panel A through D.
Now, we plan to relocate panel A to another electrical room but still on 1st floor. What is best way to do and reduce power interuption, cost at minimum for other panels (B,C,D) at floor levels above panel A?

2. Same above question if panel 'A' feeds each panel B, C, D by a dedicated 100A CB? (instead of feeding through lugs)

Thanks!

Unless you have an existing j box, I would look at the possibility of obtaining a new can for your 600 amp panel and convert the existing can to a j box, relocating the interior to your new can after pulling all the necessary conductors.
On "change-over day" all you need to do is relocate the interior and make connections.

Typically we would provide a pull box above Panel A intercept all active circuits and extend to Panel A's new location.

WoW, That is the true, One verses Two, Shut-Down(s) required...

Big "A"'s is more fun to figure out though!!!
