plenum wiring in conduit

If wiring is installed in emt in a plenum rated ceiling does it have to plenum rated? If yes what code article is it. I think i have read this in a FPN in the NEC but can not find it.

Also what type of wiring are you talking about?

There is an interesting requirement in 800.154(A) for communications cables installed in raceways in a plenum.

For fire alarm systems take a look at 760.154(A) for power limited fire alarm systems.

Chris, I'm a bit out of my league here, but it appears that refers back to 300.22 which would allow non-plenum rated conductors as long as they were in conduit. Am I reading that correctly ?

Yes, if you comply with 300.22 then you can install metal conduit and pull non-plenum rated cables.
