Can anyone suggest where to start or some good books to learn electrical wiring etc.? I have learned some electrical theory but don't know much abot wiring. I really don't have time due to work to attend any tech classes. I was going to order Tom Henry " learn to be an electrician" but am not sure yet. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Tom Henry is good although I don't know that book. Quite frankly I don't think you can learn to be an electrician thru a book. You need to do the work also.

Just think of the many EE that know a tremendous amount about electricity but could not wire a house if they wanted to. I bet many couldn't wire a 3 way switch to code. It's a different game altogether.

Dennis hit the nail (from my point of view)

Many of us train electricians daily, I can see the advantage to one in your position gaining hands on experince or even a desire to leave the desk and actually practice the profession. but like all things worth while it takes time and commitment.

good luck with your choice life is full of them.
