Backfeeding a breaker

Dumb question perhaps but when backfeeding a breaker that's acting as the main, does it matter where it's located on the buss?
I don't think it does per NEC however I believe the GE panels I use have a spot on the top left or right side that will allow the lockdown kit that is required when a standard breaker is used as a main.

Hi Dennis, this is a CH panel, I haven't picked up the hold down bracket yet so I don't know what it looks like.



Cutler-Hammer BR "trashline" or a CH "Classic"? CH Classic will need the breaker installed in the 1st positions below the lugs in order to use the required hold down kit.
