Can anybody explain what kind of load is arc furnace load. I was reading one topic it is written as below.

I also searched in google but it was regarding steel design.
Just want to make it clear that furnace load is like linear and nonlinear load which causes by load.

Arc Furnace Load

I have seen arc furnaces to have large six-pulse, or 12-pulse converters. These converters can produce harmonic distortions with a frequency one harmonic above and below the base frequency. So for the six-pulse converter you could see 5th and 7th harmonic distortions, and for the 12-pulse you might see 11th and 13th.

Of course you might have other distortions with other harmonic frequencies, but the ones directly above and below would probably be the strongest.
