230 volt motor

I had a question to ask on a previous thread by this name that is now closed:

I've got a motor on an air compressor (1 phase) labeled 230 volts. The source voltage is 240 volts. The owner of the compressor is afraid he burnt his last motor out, which also was labeled 230 volts, due to source voltage being 240 volts.

240 volts shouldn't be a problem in this situation should it?

Absolutley not a problem. In fact , the motor will run better on 240 vs 230 volt. If he's running through motors,,,see why they're being overloaded
