Change from 1" to 1 1/4" conduit in middle of run

My point was assuming metal conduit you could not insert a 1" conduit into a 1 1/4" conduit without a fitting if you are using the raceway as a complete system for line voltage wiring. Obviously if we are using this conduit as a sleeve that is something else.

I also have used a bell end of pvc and inserted it into a larger conduit. It works fine but the op wasn't clear on what was being done. IMO

In those, the 2" ID is maintained by the inner pipe and the locknut end. Granted, when extended, there is a portion with 2.5" ID, but it's never smaller than 2".

Yes no kidding. :grin:

And in the OPs they changed from 1" to 1.25" that is never smaller than 1"
