I have a client with an FPE 40 circuit service panel that has 40 circuits installed. He wants to get rid of the FPE panel (good for him) and he wants to install an additional 6 circuits. Does anyone know if any of the major US panel manfacturers are producing panels with more than 40 or 42 circuits?

I know for a fact that Sq. D makes a 60 cir. panel-- electricmanscott says so anyway. I also know GE has not had a demand for them so they have not produced them yet.

We are on the 2008 NEC. Thanks for the info. I will check with Square D to see about the availability of the panel.

Here is a 60-space panel from Square D Co. You'll have to go to Canada to get one of these beauties.

More info on this subject here.

True story. I installed one a couple of weeks ago. It was a 40/60 200 amp panel.

They also make a 42/52

One of my suppliers, Granite City Electric, has them on the shelf.
