AFCI availability

Anybody got a line on AFCI type receptacles? or are they still not being manufactured? Trying to work around a Pushmatic breaker panel.

They talk about them in the code, but I have still never seen one. You may be able to use the same exception by installing a small two breaker subpanel.

I've not heard or seen one.
You may have to set a sub panel.
Or, perhaps talk them in to an upgrade...

I heard P&S made some up when they first hit the Codebook, but they only made them for R&D & UL listing purposes. They obviously would not be the combination type now required.

If you do decide on the two breaker panel route, be aware of the brand you buy and try to install. The Cuttler Hammer brand two circuit panels won't accept the long style of CH br series combination arc-faults as they are too long in length to fit the housing. So that leaves the other guys, but do they make 2 or 4 circuit panels these days?

Sure. For the two circuit, think interior disconnect, like a non weather rated AC disconnect with a circuit breaker in it.
