Can someone explain to me the proper method of bonding the pool equipment together with a chain link fence that is within 10' of the edge of a metal pool?

If you have a diagram available that would help too.

Thanks,

Do you have to do anything to the fence wire itself, or is the fact that you have bonded the support poles good enough?

I would say that bonding one of the support poles would be plenty for a continuous metal fence such as a chain link style fence, the fabric with so many contact points would have many connections between it and the stretch bar, and the galvanized clamps on the stretch bar would bond them which usually have at least 3 clamps, with the top rail connection to each section, and for the most part, one section of fence will get you out of the 5' area around the pool anyways.
