3 phase 220v motor wired to 480v 3 phase? What happens.

I have a customer that bought an old grinder/wire wheel from an auction. The motor nameplate only says 220v 3 phase. Im used to seeing multi tap so It can be wired to 480 also. Would this motor last long if wired to 480v?
The customer only has 480v 3 phase.

If it can be re-tapped then no problem. If not it will run fast for a short period of time:roll: Small step down transformer my be the only option.

If it's a normal 3-phase motor, it won't run faster - the frequency determines that.
It will just take a huge amount of current assuming the supply can provide it.
And it will burn out very quickly.
