Major Repair garage

Would the office area connected to the side of a major repair garage with no hazordus locations in it. Be required to be wired the same as the garage. Could I use NM to wire office and MC to wire garage? Or do I need to MC the whole place?

In most cases it will at least depend on what type of construction separates the two areas. If you have at least one hour finish between them many places will allow different methods in each. If you have a two hour finish many places will allow you to consider them two separate buildings for whatever reasons you may want to consider them as separate buildings.
