Water Heater

Can a 230 volt water heater be install in a bathroom. It is 2ft from the shower.

Please give code reference.

I'm thinking it can be.

The way NEC works is you would need find a code to prohibit it and i dont think you will find it.

I believe the NEC is mute on this. yet, this isn't to say your local code doesn't speak on the issue.

I have seen many installed in bathrooms, under the sink cabinet, or up on a shelf, the only code to me would be a plumbing code for the proper venting of the pressure relief valve.

there are water heaters that are design to be mounted in a bathroom, and they are UL listed, most are insta-hots under the sink.
