I had heard someone suggesting that if there is only 3 phase ungrounded delta 480 volt available, to connect two 240 volt heaters in series across two legs. Being an resistive load in theory this would work, not supposed to be done, but if freezing was going to damage pipes, would this be something to consider for temporary?
