Motor Terminations

I have a job that involves connecting 6 new 50 HP motors. The circuit conductors are #3 AWG, the last time I terminated a motor I used split bolt connectors and tape. Is there a newer, quicker method to accomplish this task?

I lot of the motors I see are connected with "Polaris" type connectors.
Sure makes change-outs easier

I agree the Polaris type connectors are very nice. The black ones however are not listed for fine stranded wire found on motor leads. A better choice would be Polaris Grey.

Learned that the hard way when they first hit the market. Engineer speced them and me and 2 others dropped the ball on reading up on the listing.

I just used these to connect a 250 horse motor. The supplier didn't have Polaris in stock. I think they were Ilsco. They look nearly identical though, and they worked perfectly. No more split bolts,gummy wrap and 33+ here! They can be a pain to fit into the peckerhead though. Especially on a 15 degree day.
