Smoke detector locations are not specified in the NEC, and without knowing a lot more specifics it would be difficult to answer your question, whether the location is classified or not.

If it turns out that you do indeed need smokes in this room, see 501.150.

George is 100% right. You need to go to the Fire code or call your local fire sub code official as in NJ or fire marshall in other jurisdictions. The NEC does not tell us when or where they are required thats up to the fire inspector for placement and testing, however it is the electrical contractor or electricians responsibility on how to properly install the detector technically an outlet (point of consumption) if it falls under any article in the NEC. An example is if your using 120 Volt detectors, then yes rules apply by NEC, more important than that you need to clarify the hazardous location, there are Classes and Divisions and each have different wiring methods, Class III being least strict. Even a low voltage supervised or plain battery in a Class I Division I can blow something up so be very very careful on how you go about installing the detector. There are ways to sense flammable particles via duct sensors which are the normal way of doing it, please dont take this lightly by any means, do your homework. Anyone in this forum can help you and they are a good smart bunch ! we dont mind. Hope this helps and good luck.

good day!

is EP smoke/heat detector required in a class 1 division 1 room???

thanks in advance...

If you are assuming that a smoke detector is required in the room, yes, it must be explosion-proof. Detronics makes one. About $3K a pop.

If you are asking "does this room, which is a rated room, require a smoke detector" then as others have said, check your local AHJ. Just as a bit of guidance, if you go by the IBC or a variant thereof and the building is fully sprinklered you usually don't need a smoke detector. A/V's, most definitely are needed.

The Detector Electronics smoke detector referenced is suitable for Hazardous locations, however they no longer carry the UL 268 Listing. The unit will cost anywhere from $3500 to $4500. Most AHJ's won't know that it doesn't carry the UL 268 Listing.

An alternative, which carries not only the UL 268, but also UL 268A (duct detectors) is VESDA. This is an aspirated detector and depending on the square area, will cost anywhere from $1800 to $3500 including design.

Another alternative is an Intrinsically Safe (IS) Smoke detector, which will run about $200. Not all manufacturers carry IS smoke detectors. System Sensor did at one time but no longer does. Siemens carries them. If the IS detector is a 2-Wire detector it should be "Listed" with the control equipment. if it's a 4-Wire detector it is not required to be "Listed" with the control equipment.

Please be aware that Siemens smoke detectors are not listed for use with other than Siemens fire alarm control panels. This isn't to say that a PE-11 won't work on a conventional Silent Knight panel, but you're on your own if you run into any problems.
